“There is always the danger that we may just do the work for the sake of the work. This is where the respect and the love and the devotion come in –that we do it to God, to Christ, and that’s why we try to do it as beautifully as possible.” — Mother Teresa
I love the preceding quote from Mother Teresa and feel blessed knowing my “work” is my calling. My passion is for God, my family, and all children. I believe God put me on earth to be a mother and to “beautifully” reach out to hurting children through therapy.
I earned both my Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Psychology and Counseling from Troy University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 9 years of professional experience working with children, adolescents, and families in residential and outpatient settings. I utilize a brief-solution focused framework while also pulling from other schools of counseling as well as integrating faith into counseling. This allows me to tailor my counseling to be eclectic in my approach towards client’s individual needs. I have also completed the Level-One Theraplay® training.
I have been married for 12+ years and have 3 beautiful daughters. I love my roles as a wife and mother and feel these roles have strengthened my counseling skills.
Professional memberships include American Counseling Association and American Association of Christian Counselors.
